Born in Atlanta, GA. with my Georgia roots going back several generations, I grew up in Coral Gables, FL. and graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School.
1970 – I received my BBA from University of Georgia Terry College of Business, major in accounting
1970 - 1980 I practiced accounting, initially in the audit department of Price Waterhouse & Co. then in private practice with a client of Price Waterhouse
1980 - Present — Licensed as a real estate salesman in 1980 and a real estate broker in 1984; 1980 - 1996 Prudential Florida Realty (originally Cousins & Assoc.) in Coral Gables, FL 1996 - 2013 We moved to Weston, FL. Where I was affiliated with Weston Realty (the resale division of Arvida, the developer of Weston), selling in partnership with my late husband, Ron, as the top producing agents in Weston. Weston Realty later became Coldwell Banker; subsequently I affiliated with ONE Sotheby's International Realty, also in Weston. 2013 - We moved to Amelia Island and I joined the exclusive sales team at Amelia Island Plantation Real Estate, a division of Omni Hotels & Resorts ; in July 2016 I joined Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Partners as a Broker-Associate; in 2024 I transitioned to managing broker of my own company, Ellen G Harlin P.A. My closed sales during my career total more than $450 million
2004 - 2010 In addition to real estate, I owned & operated a gourmet kitchen store & gift shop, It's In The Kitchen, in Weston.
I have served on several committees with my local Real Estate Associations - Professional Standards, Grievance, Realtor-Lawyer & Membership Committees - including serving on the Board of Directors, all with the Coral Gables Association of Realtors. I also served on the Global Marketing Committee of the Fernandina Beach Association of Realtors and am looking to serve on additional committees as the opportunity arises.
In addition to my real estate career, I have been a member of Junior League, beginning in Coral Gables in 1980 and then as a sustaining member of The Junior League of Jacksonville. I am also a member of Amelia Plantation Chapel. My first husband, Ron Myers, passed away in 2022 and I subsequently remarried. I live on Amelia Island with my second husband, Sewell Harlin.
